Welcome to Explorer
Explorer Elementary boasts a highly experienced team of caring and dedicated educators who provide an engaging and enriching learning environment for students. We benefit from outstanding partnerships with parents, community members and our very active PTSA and Williamston Schools Foundation.
Students at Explorer receive quality core instruction that is designed to promote learning through a variety of evidence based instructional practices. We utilize effective Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) to ensure the needs of all learners are being met. We are particularly proud of our longstanding practice of arts integration and the incorporation of technology in the learning process. This is evident in both the general classroom setting as well as in our impressive variety of related arts offerings.
In addition to a strong focus on learning, the staff at Explorer continuously model and promote a school environment that is KIND, SAFE, COOPERATIVE and RESPECTFUL. This work is sustained through our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Our teachers and staff work hard every day to assist students with both academic and social and emotional growth.
Thank you to our families and community members for your ongoing support of our students and our school. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you in the upcoming school year!

The Williamston Police Department is seeking a responsible adult to assist with crossing guard duties at the corner of Riverside and Highland. If you are a parent who drops students off in the morning or picks students up in the afternoon, you might be interested in making some extra money for a short amount of work. We could support you by providing a safe place for your child to wait while you assist Teri Nelson at the intersection. The morning shift is from 8:00-8:30 and the afternoon shift is from 3:15-3:45. For more information, contact Jim Wolf at jwolf@williamston-mi.us.
