Williamston Coach To Be Inducted into MITCA Hall of Fame
Williamston High Teacher and Coach, Mitch Lutzke, will be inducted into the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coach Lutzke has been a track coach at WHS for the past 27 years and has accrued 242 wins along with only 22 losses. He has coached the girl's team since 1993 and the boy's team since 2014. Under Lutzke’s leadership, WHS girls have won their league championship 16 times while the boys have won it 5 times. Lutzke has also won the MHSAA Regional 12 times and has finished in the top 10 of the MHSAA State Meet eight (8) times.
Over his career, he has made regular appearances at the MITCA State Meet. He led his teams to the MITCA State meet 17 times including nine (9) championship titles for the girls. WHS is honored to have Teacher and Coach Mitch Lutzke as a valuable member of the WCS community.
